The founder of Maven Med, Inc and Music Driven Medical Content (MDMC), Pramanik Bharadwaj, MD was born and bred in Queens, New York, where he attended St. John’s University in New York and completed his Bachelor’s degree in Biology.
He pursued his passion for medicine and earned his medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine where he scored in the 99th percentile on his U.S. Medical Licensing Examination before starting his medical residency at New York Hospital-Queens in 2008.
He continued to pursue all his interests while in residency, including servicing humanity, teaching medicine, and creating lyrical poetry through his passion for music. He governed his father’s charity, a free school for girls in Dhoober Kishanpur, a remote village in Uttar Pradesh, India and helped fund the project by doing active shows with a live funk band, the Brownskinz® Funk Unit, across New York City during that time.
Teaching medicine to medical students has always been his passion after completing his medical school training. Dr. Bharadwaj worked for various educational companies, such as Kaplan Medical and Kaplan Curriculum (NYC), Med School Tutors (NYC) and Becker Medical (formerly Falcon Reviews, TX). Although his passion for music and for medicine initially conflicted each other, in 2009, Pramänik merged the two into one when he started the medical music movement. He ultimately grabbed the attention of world-renowned board-certified professor of pathology, Dr. John Barone, of Kaplan Medical in 2010, with whom he went on a venture to create a full-length album of 11 songs filled with original, unique lyrical mnemonics and still used by medical students today to facilitate learning in an engaging way.
Welcome to the site of the MDMC and thank you for your continued support as Maven Med, Inc carries forward the passion of music driven medical content, a novel and innovative approach to medical education.
